What we do
Created under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, Te Punanga Ora are legislatively recognised to ensure Māori governance in the determination of Hauora priorities for whānau, hapū and hapori across Taranaki.
We provide health and well-being thought leadership that best reflects the hauora needs of tangata Māori who are from, and choose to live in Taranaki.
Our role is to ensure that hauora services in Taranaki, are organised in a way that aligns with the needs of our local geographic communities. We strive to serve our whānau and all families living under the shadow of Taranaki Maunga.
Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022
We are consistent with the expectations of the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, the purpose of Te Punanga Ora IMPB is mandated by our Iwi to represent Taranaki Māori perspectives on:
a) the needs and aspirations of Māori concerning Hauora Māori outcomes; and
b) how the health system is performing about those needs and aspirations; and
c) the design and delivery of services and public health interventions within Taranaki.
The Te Punanga Ora IMPB presence will ensure ngā uri o ngā Iwi o Taranaki me ngāi Māori katoa have access to all their hauora needs.
